Recipe: Lemon Vitality Crinkles

I’ve just acquired a bigger oven when we moved to a different apartment. Although, it took me a while before I started baking again. Moving means lots and lots of stuff dumped into boxes. Most items are already unboxed but grossly misplaced. My baking stuff was mixed with gardening tools and/or toys. I had to sort our things in proper order before I could really function. That’s just the way I am. 😀

Anyway, I finally found the time to bake and include essential oils in the process. I wanted to do something easy and quick so Lemon Crinkles it is.

An inspiration from India’s First Michelin Star Chef

I work in the aviation industry with academic background in information technology. Who would have known that I would find inspiration from a chef? Not just a chef, but India’s FIRST Michelin Star Chef.

A conference on Innovation

I recently attended the BOLDTalks Innovation 2017 event. This event is something that I look forward to every year because the topics are very engaging and relevant. This year’s event included the a Chef as one of the speakers. You’d ask yourself, what does a Chef have to do with innovation?

Beef Caldereta Recipe, Made Easy by Mama Sita’s Caldereta Mix

I used to be intimidated by Caldereta. It seemed so complicated. I’ll tell you why.

In the olden days…

Growing up, we would always have these family parties and gatherings at home. Aunts and Uncles would come over early to help with the preparations. Food were always made from scratch. And I mean no short cuts!

You need chicken? Pork? Beef? Goat? They buy them alive and slaughter them at home. Morbid, I know. But that was tradition … something that was not passed on to the next generation. I don’t know, we just can’t do it. We also did not use gas stoves when cooking. Not that we don’t have stoves, the older generation just prefer cooking with firewood. They say it adds flavor. Complicated, right?

Anyway … back to Caldereta.

Kimchikin : Good Food That Won’t Leave You Broke

Kimchikin Al Ghurair

A few days after our quick vacation in the Philippines, we were invited to try Kimchikin in their newest branch in Al Ghurair Centre. The place is cozy with contemporary, minimalistic design. A big TV plays Kpop music videos on the background. Being a Kpop fan, my niece would have loved it here but alas! she isn’t here and I was at a loss. I had no idea what I was watching. LOL.
