Taking a break from my usual travel posts to share with you my awesome, intimate experience at TKD Lingerie. (Hope I’m not sharing Too Much Information!!)
As I’ve mentioned earlier, I won a giveaway from Weesha’s World. I went to collect my prize at TKD Lingerie shop in Jumeirah Town Center. I was greeted and personally assisted by Brigit, the store manager.
Brigit gave me a quick tour of the shop and showed me their collections.
TKD Lingerie is the first lingerie store in the UAE for women with bigger bust. I can’t tell you how much this makes me happy. I dread buying bras. There’s so much to consider and every time I try, I end up not buying at all. I really find it exhausting.
At TKD, they have a different way of measuring. They don’t use tape measure for determining your bra size. I was intrigued and confused at the same time. How would I know my size if I don’t get properly measured?
Well, apparently, not all undergarments are made the same way.
It’s like wearing a size medium in one brand and then end up a couple of sizes up on another brand. Undergarments are the same way. So in TKD, they use the above guidelines.
They have a lot of pretty pairs but I decided on going for the basic black or nude. (Boring, I know!!) I honestly didn’t know what to get so instead of doing the impossible task of choosing from the whole collection, I narrowed down my choices to the basics.
It’s actually a trick I do whenever I am out. Stick to the basics so I don’t over spend. LOL! Brigit was so helpful and patient with me that we did eventually find the perfect fit. It wasn’t easy but we did it! 😀
I got the Fantasie Rebecca bra (AED 290) and Rebecca brief (AED 165). It had a good fit, enough support and it has really nice details that makes me feel instantly pretty. LOL. A good fitting underwear makes a lot of difference. I know that for some it could be “pricey” but someone once told me that good underwears are considered investments. They go a long way if you take good care of them and they make you look and feel special!
Plus size doesn’t necessarily mean boring. We now have a go to place for our undergarment needs!
