Review: Merries Diapers

January 18, 2013 by Sheila | A B & Me 1 Comment

When I was pregnant with Blake, I decided that I will breastfeed her and use cloth diapers, because you know, its “cheaper” and “earth friendly”. When my baby was born, all it took was one incident and I’m back to using disposables. 😛 Please don’t hate me for doing so. It’s just not working for me. And I am lucky that Blake doesn’t have any reaction to diapers. I never had nappy problems even when she was still a baby. (Except for that one time that we waited too long before changing her nappies).

Now that she’s a toddler, I’m still happy with the current brand that we use. BUT then we were introduced to:

Merries Diapers: Japan’s No. 1 diaper brand

I immediately fell in love with this product. The inside lining is made of cotton! Not plastic. COTTON.

So how does it fare compared to the popular brand? Let’s see:

Full nappy. Fresh from baby’s bum and very full in the morning!

The nappy was so full but no leakage. CHECK! To show you how good this brand is, I used the tissue test like so:

press facial tissue on a very wet nappy

 And LOOK!!

It didn’t get soaked at all! Sure there were wet spots but that’s just moisture. Baby’s bottom is very much dry! With the popular brand, I’ve had incidents where I woke up to a soaked baby and a very wet spot on the bed.

One thing more I  like about Merries is that it doesn’t really stink of pee. Probably because of the cotton. And it has wetness indicators so you won’t have to guess if you need to change nappies. I definitely recommend this product! Sure, it’s a bit pricey but I didn’t have to change a lot too. It’s still value for money.

Merries can be delivered to your door for free by calling 04-368-5191 at AED140 per pack (same price for all sizes). Also available in the following stores in Dubai: Union Coop supermarket branches in Safa Jumeirah, Al Barsha and Al Wasl, Quick Buy Super Mart Palm Jumeirah. Online at supermart.ae at AED145.00. Also available through importer website with free delivery.

Sometimes the best memories aren’t from big adventures but from the simple moments—like game night in a cozy cabin, laughing until our stomachs hurt. We booked our Big Bear stay through @airbnb and @avantstay gave us the perfect backdrop for a weekend full of fun, comfort, and family time. Definitely one for the books.
