Peeling Nails

April 23, 2010 by Sheila | A B & Me 4 Comments

Eversince I broke my nail I still haven’t been able to grow it back properly. Sure it would grow a couple of cms but the tips would peel. This is the first time my nails acted this way. Aside from peeling, its so brittle! The only way I could make it long is to “reinforce” it with nail polish. But then, it would be so yellow I wouldn’t want to color it anymore!

I did a little reading on nails and here are possible causes:

  1. CLIMATE CHANGE
  2. DIETARY ISSUES
  3. PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION
  4. PSORIASIS, YEAST INFECTION AND OTHER SKIN CONDITIONS
  5. CHEMICAL EXPOSURE
  6. IMMERSION IN WATER
  7. POST FAKE NAIL TRAUMA
  8. WRONG KIND OF NAIL TREATMENTS  (Formaldehyde, an ingredient in several popular strengtheners, can cause drying and irritation of the skin and nails—not to mention being a suspected cause of breast cancer. Switch to a nail care product that’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl pthalate)

– More HERE

I could be affected by the climate change, I do not have any prescription meds, no skin conditions that I could think of, no chemical exporsure. I wash the dishes but I don’t think that’s enough to make my nails brittle and weak. I don’t wear fake nails.

Most probably I lack the vitamins and minerals my nails needs and I might be using the wrong kinds of treatments. (I must check that!!)

Has anyone experienced this? What did you do??

Found this gem while sorting through my phone. Thi Found this gem while sorting through my phone. This was taken a couple of years ago, during the pandemic. I always thought it was funny… but when I showed it to Adam again, he finally told me who he was talking to. 😂

It moved me in a different way this time. Because honestly? We do this a lot. We call on God, and when He answers… we put Him on hold.

But Scripture reminds us:
“Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” — Jeremiah 29:12

If we call, He answers. The question is—are we ready to listen? And when He calls us, are we willing to pick up?

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.’” — Isaiah 6:8

Yes, God. Here I am.
