It’s been a while since my last blog entry in November 2025. I stepped back from blogging again, although I managed to keep some activity on social media here and there. I guess I just wasn’t in the mood to share as much.
After my aunt passed away around this time last year, I slowly lost interest in writing and sharing things online. It wasn’t that life stopped happening. Quite the opposite, actually. Plenty was going on. I just didn’t feel like documenting all of it.
And now, looking back, I realize just how much has happened.
The past year has been relatively normal, as normal as life gets anyway. We still had our usual family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The kids kept busy with their school activities, and B competed in cheerleading for the first time. There were the usual family outings, celebrations, and little moments that make up everyday life.
We also had a pretty scary moment when we almost lost my sister due to complications during childbirth. Thankfully, both she and the baby are doing well now. The new little one in the family has brought us so much happiness. It’s always nice to have something new to celebrate, especially when life has been a little heavy.
There were also some personal milestones. I completed the Christian Life Program through Couples for Christ, and B joined Youth for Christ. I’ve been making a more intentional effort to grow in my faith and be more consistent in my walk as a Catholic. It’s something I’ve wanted to work on, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do so.
On a lighter note, Blake and I got to watch Louis Tomlinson in concert, and we had an absolute blast! Definitely one of those fun memories I’ll be keeping.
But, as life tends to do, there were more difficult chapters ahead.
We lost Adrian in August, and we had to travel back to the Philippines for his memorial. It was a difficult time for the family, and one that I’m still processing. A few weeks later, we lost another cousin to cancer. Another goodbye we weren’t ready for.
And now, here we are, approaching another year since my aunt passed away. It’s strange how certain dates bring everything back. You go about your usual routine, but somewhere in the back of your mind, you remember.
So, What’s Next?
If there’s one thing I’ve realized over the past year, it’s that life doesn’t always happen in neat little chapters. Celebrations are happening alongside heartbreak. New beginnings while we’re still grieving old endings. Ordinary Tuesdays mixed in with moments that change everything.
This year has been a lot, and not so much at the same time: big moments, difficult losses, happy celebrations, and plenty of ordinary days in between.
I don’t have a grand plan for the blog just yet. I’ll probably continue taking things week by week, sharing when I feel like it, and writing about the things that interest me.
Maybe I’ll get back to our travel adventures, family activities, budget-friendly finds, and all the random things I used to enjoy sharing here.
For now, I’m just happy to be writing again.
Because one thing is for sure: life doesn’t stop. And all we can do is live.
Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.
