Layering You Don’t Know Jacques

I thought I’d make my own version of YDKJ – Suede. I mean how hard could that be?

  • Make YDKJ your base, 2 or 3 coats. 
  • Add a layer of shimmer polish. 
  • Then finish with matte top coat.


That’s what I thought. In a perfect world, that would have been exactly like the suede version. But I’m not in a perfect world. So…let the pictures show you what I ended up with.


I layered YDKJ with OPI Happy Anniversary. Then with China Glaze Matte Magic Top Coat.

I just think I put too much of Happy Anniversary. Or maybe its not the right kind of shimmer.

With flash. Still no love.

    I really have no idea what to call this color. Doesn’t look like YDKJ anymore. Doesn’t even look like taupe. 😀
