Plants vs. BabyMama

February 4, 2013 by Sheila | A B & Me 2 Comments

Follow Baby Mama on Facebook and Twitter or Subscribe by e-mail for updates!  Remember my little celery experiment? Well, I am finally calling it. Time of death: 08:02, 31 January 2013. It didn’t survive at all. I saw no roots. I transferred the celery to a small shallow cup and even put it outside to get some beautiful sun… but all…

Daiso is Love

January 30, 2013 by Sheila | A B & Me 3 Comments

I think I might be developing another addiction. It started when I was browsing for kid friendly food to serve during my baby’s birthday. That’s when I saw cute lunch box arrangements (yes, bento). My brain immediately went haywire and started googling for more inspirations.    At one point, I almost bought molds and nori…

Conversations With Blake

January 28, 2013 by Sheila | A B & Me Leave a Comment

I can’t wait to have conversations with my princess. I’m sure it would be fun and priceless! And you know what they say… We learn from our kids. So, I’ll start posting conversations with Blake. At this point, Blake just blabbers and mimics everything she hears. It would be gibberish for everyone else but I understand…

Garden Project: Growing Celery

January 15, 2013 by Sheila | A B & Me 1 Comment

I have been wanting to have an indoor/small apartment garden for quite sometime now and of course, I never had the time to start. I have read all the tips and how to’s, and I know which plants I want to grow. I said I’ll start with tomatoes.   You see, as a kid, I…

Christmas Decorating Update

December 22, 2012 by Sheila | A B & Me Leave a Comment

Here’s an update on this post. I wanted a red and white theme this Christmas but because I have very little time to spare, I had to use whatever we have. Here’s the first version of our decors: We have a small tree which I decided to put on top of our dining table. This is…

Christmas Decorating 2012 : Red & White

December 9, 2012 by Sheila | A B & Me 2 Comments

So, my twitter page and Facebook timeline was flooded with different emotions, from shock to disappointment due to the loss of PacMan to Marquez. I must admit, I am not a boxing fan but I felt weak when I saw a photo of Pacquiao knocked out, lying face down. I sure hope he’s OK.  —–x…

Hello!

Hey there!
We’re a Filipino family of four figuring things out in California after living in Dubai for years. This space is part blog, part memory box—where we share life lately, parenting wins and fails, travels, and everything in between.

Sometimes it’s deep, sometimes it’s funny, but it’s always honest. Thanks for hanging out with us!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole “YOLO I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole “YOLO” mindset. It sounds fun — and sometimes it IS harmless. But when we let it guide our decisions without pause… it can turn into a habit of acting first, thinking later.

This post is just something I made to process that idea. What if we shifted from the YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE to YOU ONLY DIE ONCE?

It’s not being a buzzkill. It’s about modeling self-control, delayed gratification, and faith in action—even when it’s not popular.

What do you think: YOLO or YODO?

Ps. I shared more of the story behind this thought over on @threads if you’re curious (same handle!)
