I was invited to try the crabs at Chimes the other day. It was an instant blogger gathering as Brigitte and Carla were there too.
Arrived at around 8 pm. Just in time for dinner. I was really hungry.
First they served prawn cracklings (is that what this is called? I know it by the term “chicharap” .. LOL!) with shrimp paste. I know, shrimp on shrimp but it was a good combination.
For drinks, I ordered this lemongrass drink (sorry, forgot the name!!). I loved it so much that I almost went ballistic when the straw got clogged. What could be at the bottom of this drink that would clog up the straw, right? Then I realized I was sipping the lemongrass! HAHA!
I also had soup. This tom yam soup was soooo good that it cleared up my clogged nose. 😀
For the main event, crabs! One order is paired with rice or bread. The crab can be shared by two people!
We had Singapore Pepper Crab (below) and Singapore Chili Crab (no photo)
This Malaysian Butter Crab is the winner for me!
For desert, Sticky Rice with Mango and Coconut Sauce. Perfect!
Crabfest 2014 is only until 31st October at Chimes Restaurant. They are open daily from 1130 AM – 1130 PM. They do deliveries as well, just call 800 – CHIMES (244637).
Follow them in Twitter and Facebook for more info.
