A B & Me Blogger in Focus : Weesha’s World

Welcome to the third post of the Blogger in Focus Series! Today’s feature is a blogger that I truly admire. Being “plus size”  myself, I’m always on the look out for style inspirations. Here’s a trivia for you : I can’t dress myself up! I’ve always been a shirt and jeans kind of girl, you know — very casual! But every time I look at Weesha’s blog, I get inspired to be a little more girly. 😀

How did you start blogging?

I started blogging about 4 years ago, it was my little secret so it was completely anonymous. What started as a little vent for everyday life turned into a style and body image diary and I became a part of this amazing community. I guess the main reason I started blogging about fashion and body image was because I was so sick of never seeing girls like me in any media and I was extremely inspired by the handful of plus size bloggers I came across back then.

What do you write about?

I blog about fashion, style, body image and beauty.

Tips for new Bloggers?

Just work hard on putting out great content. It’s important to have beautiful, bright photos and well written posts, no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, etc. Networking online is a good way to get a bigger audience and most importantly, be an honest blogger. Your readers will stay loyal to your blog if you they connect with you, trust you and enjoy your posts.

What are the challenges you face with blogging?

I have been very lucky with the opportunities that have come my way but I do struggle with the fact that fashion blogging can be very superficial. It helps to look a certain way and wear high-end labels but I remind myself that I blog to represent girls like me. I’m also not a fan of the amount of press releases sent to my inbox on a daily basis!

What do you do outside of blogging?

I work at an awesome design agency called Swatch & Palette, my partner and I founded the business a few months ago so it keeps me super busy. Other than that, I’m usually chilling with my friends and fur babies (I have 3 cats and a dog), shopping at Dubai Mall or cooking.

Blogs you recommend my readers should read/follow?

I have a long list of my favorite blogs on my blogroll, I follow thousands of blogs so it’s really hard to just name a few!

3 Random Facts about you

I’m a pescatarian, I have seven tattoos, and I still haven’t seen the movie E.T even though I love Drew Barrymore.
