How to Apply for Turkish Visa for Filipinos in Dubai

UPDATE: 10.08.15

Please note of the update from Turkish Consulate General in Dubai. My original post is dated 2013, I cannot guarantee that the same process still applies. Kindly check with the Consulate. Thank you.

UPDATE 2: Check the below comment for an update as per the experience of one of our Kabayan. Thanks!

~~~
Whew! Finally found the chance to do a proper blog post! I was so drained from that trip … in a good way. I will be making several posts about Turkey because one is not enough. Let me start from the very beginning!
HOW TO APPLY FOR VISA
Since I am Filipino, I needed to apply for visa. Imagine my stress when I received the email that I need to go to Turkish Consulate in Dubai to get my visa … four days before the trip! Normally, visa processing would take 3 – 5 working days. I still did not get my hotel and airline booking so basically I do not have any other documentation with me. Anyhow, here’s what you need when applying for visa:
  1. Application Form (Download Here).
  2. Passport (must be valid at least 6 months during the time of application)
  3. Passport copy (With Dubai visa copy)
  4. One passport sized photo
  5. NOC from sponsor
  6. Copy of confirmed flight and hotel booking
  7. 3 months bank statement
  8. Salary Certificate
  9. Application Fee (AED 220)
The process does not take a lot of time. When you are called, you just present your documents and I guess they’ll be asking the usual questions like “where are you staying? what is the purpose of your travel?” etc. (I did not get a lot of questions coz I was a guest of Turkish Airlines.)
Once everything is in order, they would ask you to pay and give you a schedule when you can collect your passport and visa.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  • Turkish Consulate is located at the 8th floor of World Trade Center Building. (Map)
  • The Consulate opens at 830 am. Be there early because they only accept 60 tokens/transactions per day.
  • Turkish Visa collection starts from 1 – 2 pm (on your appointed collection date)
Hope this helps! And special thanks to Turkish Airlines for making this happen.
    Hi po,
    Ask ko lng po when it comes to booking airfare and hotels. Need po b na confirmed booking tlg? I mean what if madeny po ung application ng visa sayang nmn po yung mga binayad sa airfare and accommodations.. Pwede po b na dummy ticket and dummy hotel reservations just to be safe po ? PLEASE ADVISE po.
    Thanks in advance.
      It has to be confirmed, meron naman pong fare class na refundable/rebookable ganun din po sa hotels.
        ang concern ko po kc is what if madeny po ung application if ever.. or my case po b na nadedeny pdn kht complete docs nmn?
          Kaya nga ang recommended na booking is yung refundable/rebookable, bihira ang cases na nadeny pag kumpleto ang documents. Karaniwan sa na dedeny eh hindi tugma yung mga information between documents.
    Hi Po, i was trying to get an appointment online but sabi full for the next 12 months. And meron other services ang VFs u will pay 194 to secure your appointment. And I did just to make sure may slot ako. Anyone have the same thing? And another concern here. When I get my bank statement sa bank, there was a system error, my name wont appear on the page just my account number, so bank made just like a word format with my name and account number and then with bank stamp. Anyone knows if this is just fine? Appreciate any help. Thank you
      The document you received from the bank is acceptable as long as it has the bank stamp.
      As far as we know, visa application for Philippines passport holder can be accomplished online. We are not sure about the appointment with VFS as we did not use their services for Turkish Visa.
          There is no guarantee that you will be accommodated if just walk-in, if you have a valid US or Schengen visa you may apply a visa to Turkey electronically. If not, I would recommend that you go with an appointment.
          • Alvin | AB&Me
            Please review your application as you might have given a response that made uploading a letter from travel agency mandatory. If you cannot find anything as such, you may upload your flight/hotel booking or invitation letter if you have a sponsor.
    Hi Sir Alvin. Need your advise lang po. Sa August po magtravel ako sa Georgia since may UAE resident visa po ako, aware naman po ako na exempted na po ako sa visa sa Georgia.. ask ko lang po pano po yun pag mag crossing the border ako papunta sa Turkey (May dala po kami private car from Georgia). Madali na po ba ako makakapag apply ng visa ng Turkey thru Consulate-General of Turkey sa may DWTC. Saka po meron na din po pala akong Schengen visa, just in case makakatulong na rin po ba to para mapabilis or malaki ang chance maapproved ng visa? Salamat po.
      Pwede po kayo mag apply ng evisa, wala po kaming experience sa pag dala ng sasakyan cross border.
      Paki siguro na lang po na kumpleto ang paperworks ninyo para hindi magka aberya sa travel ninyo.
Paano po kapag walang transactions for many months, may alternatives po ba dito? or pwede ko ba lagyan yung account ko starting this month upto August… accepted po kaya? Kaka-visa ko lang din ulit for work. Thanks for sa help!
      Ang purpose ng bank statement is to support yung capability mo na suportahan yung gastos mo sa destination at the prove na may source of income ka.
      Kung walang activity ang account mo, pero indicate mo na may trabaho ka at sabi ng company mo na may sweldo ko, ma question kung saan pumapasok yung pera mo. Kung wala kang activity dahil wala ka naman work, kailangan mo lang isubmit ang statement ng asawa mo.
        Hi Alvin, may tanong po ako, regarding sa bank account. Travel ko is Nov. 9 (only 5 days in Turkey for Marathon only). Appointment date ko sa VSF is on October 2, kaso kumuha na ako ng bank statement (UNB) ng June to August. pero ung last 2 months ko sa BS (July- August) ung sahod ko sa ibang bank na pumasok (ADIB), nagdedeposit din ako sa UNB.. Pero kunti lang.. Magkakatpoblema po ba ako at may dapat po ba na malakai ang ending balance?
        Please po I need your advise.
        Thanks in advance!
          Hindi naman po magkaka problema, ang purpose po ng bank statement eh para mapatunayan na may income ka at tugma sa salary certificate galing sa company. Ginagamit din ang bank statement para malaman kung may ibang source of income pero not declared.
          Hindi mo na ba ma edit yung existing application? Subukan mo contact yung support ng website para ma edit yung existing application.
          Pero sa tingin ko naman hindi magkaka problema kung mag apply ka ulit dahil it will be considered as a new application.
      Hi. I would judt like to ask, did you use any travel agency to assist you on the visa processing or you personally book an appointment to VSF? and one more thing, was your flight tickets dummy or confirmed? Sorry if im bugging you off with too many questions, I’m going to apply for visa next month 🙂
        We did not use a travel agency. Application was done personally, As far as I know, for Philippine passport holders, application can be completed online.
        hi! no i didn’t used travel agency,i did it on my own even the flight and hotel bookings, and it was all confirmed and not dummy. well, for me personally if you completed all the requirements needed for visa application then you can do it by yourself without an agency since all they do is to assist you, you still the one who will complete everything.
          There is no validity indicated in the requirement, however, its a good practice to submit documents that are recently issued. If there is a valid reason why your NOC cannot be issued closer to the date of application, you should be able to explain it to the Consular officer in case you are required to appear for an interview.
          You will be advised that you are qualified for eVisa, you will then have to click the eVisa button below. You may not have to go to the consulate or VFS to get the visa as it will be issued electronically.
Pwede ba yung bank statement ng mama ko ang ipresent ko? Currently kasi wala pa kong sariling bank account dito sa UAE kasi kahihire ko palang, Or magbukas man ako, since Sept na yung flight ko, pwede ba ako yun almost 1 month lang yung bank history ko ng bank ko na nakapangalan sakin mismo?
      The account has to be in your name. It will be difficult for your to demonstrate that it is you who is depositing the money to the account.
      It is actually illegal to use someone elses credit/debit card here in UAE.
            For more clarification, it is better to consult the embassy/consulate.
      Are you sure they used the words in the receipt says visa collection date or passport collection date? If it does say visa collection date its a good indication that your application is approved. It may be released earlier than 3 to 4 weeks.
          If there is incomplete documentation to support your application, they would have asked you already to explain during the date of the application. If they didn’t ask you anything and your documentation is complete it is a good indication that the application will be granted, however, they have to do check if your documentation is legitimate and final decision is based on what their findings are.
    • Alvin | AB&Me
      We cannot confirm if Salary Table and my Bank Certificate will be enough, the procedure and requirement stated in the article is specific to Dubai.
      In general, bank statements are required along with proof of employment in order to assess legitimacy and legality of employment, bank statements are also used to determine if an applicant is involved in financial activities that are illegal. In your case, the documents that you plan to submit have no link to each other than your own statement. As we usually say, decision on visa application is solely up to the consular/immigration officer.
      Mam, nung nag apply po kasi ako ng visa sa kanila, dumerecho ako on the day itself. Maaga ako pumunta kaya na accommodate ako. Kung hindi ka ma accommodate the same day, bibigyan ka nila ng token or number at yun na yung appointment mo for the next day. Hindi ko po na subukan mag online appointment. Siguro mas ok kung sa embassy kayo mag inquire.
    Good Day!
    I went to the embassy and submitted all the required documents. prior to that I had to make an appointment online and upload all the necessary documents.
    my concern now is the lady in the counter took all my documents except for my passport and told me that they will review my papers. Once done they will contact me.
    does that mean my visa got denied?
    i badly need help.
      Not necessarily, It only means that they don’t want to hold on to your passport while they haven’t decided yet. This works for you because waiting time can sometime take a long. Since your passport is with you, you are free to travel while waiting.
    Hi Sheila, I hope you are well. I am planning to visit Turkey this coming October. However, since I need to initiate the papers and prepare all before arranging an appointment, I would like to know if do they need to see a particular amount in your UAE account (since they need the 3 months bank statement)? And how much would that be approximately if you have an idea? I have the complete itinerary (flights and hotel confirmations already) for 4 days 3 nights. It would be grateful to hear from you soon. Thanks very much 🙂
Do you think na maaapprove ako ng turkish consolate basta complete documents lang ako? tsaka hindi ba big deal kung magkano yung balance ng saving basta sa 3 months na yon nagkakaroon ng deposit? Kasi January ako nag open May na ngaun nasa 2,500 lang pera ko pero withdraw and deposit naman ginagawa ko so may 3 months bank statement pa din ako. Pakisagot naman po salamat.
    Hi, If one doesn’t have a valid Schengen/US/UK visa, then he is not eligible for E-visa, is that correct? In that case, she must apply personally.
      Eligibility to apply for E-Visa is depending on your nationality. Depending on your nationality, there may be additional requirements. You will be informed of these requirements after you select your country of travel document and travel dates on the E-visa application site.
    And do I have to apply for a appointment online, or can I personally go the consulate to submit my docs for the visa. Your immediate response would be much appreciated and thank you for providing us sceptics a lot of information for the process.
            Did you check with the bank if they can issue a certified copy of the transaction history. An online printout might not do as it can easily be forged. A stamped certified document from the bank is more legitimate.
But according to my friends who applied for visa recently, you can go there and try your luck. If you don’t get interviewed on the same day, you can ask to be listed for another day.
      Hi Janices, you need to provide NOC from your company stating that the do not have any objection for you to travel. Your BF on the other hand can send you a letter of support stating that he will be shouldering your expenses while in Turkey. No show money needed, you just need to establish that you can support your travel. — But you have to take note that this is only based on my experience and I am not an expert. You should ask the consulate if you have any other concerns.
    Hi, I went to Turkish consulate in Dubai and there is now an appointment. I came yesterday and wasn’t accepted. I was just asked to write my name/all applicant name if family – for next day’s appointment.
    After paying, I was told to come back for passport collection – is that it? Does that means we are approved? (I applied for myself, hubby and child)
    Thanks!
      Thank you for your update, Eden.
      What time did you go to the consulate? I’m asking coz as I’ve said in my post, they only accept 60 applicants per day.
      However, my post was about my experience in 2013 therefore, it is possible that they have changed the process.
      As per your question, I cannot answer if you are approved or not. But as per experience, they will not take your passport unless you are approved. I guess the only way to confirm is when you collect your passport. Good luck!
      • Eden
        Yeah, hubby is saying the same thing – that it’s approved as we’ve paid 225dhs each applicant and was asked to collect it. I am just wondering because there’s no question – just – for tourist? and if I have a different sponsor than my husband – I think the officer checked if we both have NOC from our respective companies.
        yes 60 applicant still! We are number 7 🙂
        All online, may it be their website or blog, doesn’t mention any appointment, but there is one now – although just a matter of writing your name on their blank paper for the next day or after. I went around 7:32 on Wednesday the 7th. and was told I have to come back. Officer starts to check documents from 7:30. And based on experience, most of the applicants coming in there were not aware of the appointment system. 🙂 so had to go through what I did.
        p.s. passport size 5x6cm! 2 copies.
            Bring all required documents.
            Come early … very early so you get a chance to be interviewed same day. Worst case, you get an appointment for another day when you go there.
            It’s fairly easy to get Turkish visa if you have all the documents. You can get it in 3 – 4 working days (1 week max).
      Hi Chelly,
      I cannot guarantee anything but maybe if your NOC shows your salary as well then that could work. However, bear in mind that I am not connected to the consulate in any way therefore I cannot confirm that they will accept this.
      You may call them directly in order to get a more accurate answer.
    hi. I’ve got my Turkey visa last week. And im so thankful for your help regarding the requirements and the processing. Ar first, i was very nervous because i have no idea what are the things they will ask me, but when i reached the counter, it was very fast, they just asked me for how long will i stay in Turkey and what is the purpose of my travel. Then they just stamp my documents and come the day after tomorrow to get my passport back. As long as you have the complete requirements everything will be easy and fast. My travel will be on 9th of July 2015 and im excited. Thank you so much for your help.
      Hi A B & Me and Cherry!
      I am planning to go to Turkey on March 12 – 15, 2016. I just wanna ask Cherry if you have presented your confirmed ticket which you already paid when you applied a Visa? As i have read post by A B & Me that ” Ticket booking & Hotel Booking” only would help in obtaining a Turkish visa.
      I am asking because I already booked a flight and planning to pay tomorrow.
      Since I can provide all other requirements such as NOC from sponsor, and Bank statement, Salary Certificate etc.
      Thanks a lot..
            Please check my post again. The processing usually takes 3 – 5 days therefore you need enough time to get your visa.
            Also, you need to go there early and get a token. If you still need clarifications, you may contact the consulate directly as I am not, in any way, connected with Turkish Consulate hence I won’t be able to confirm anything.
      As far as I know, there is no minimum salary requirement as long as you can prove that you are employed and you will come back to Dubai (or where ever your home country is).
      You might want to check on the consulate regarding this matter if you need more info.
      Hi Jenny, I did not present my hotel booking and ticket as I was a guest of Turkish Airlines (I got special treatment, LOL!) But if you have a booking (booking only, not ticket that you have paid for already), I think that would help. Also, hotel bookings would help (you can cancel booking anytime if you don’t get a visa… just don’t cancel 24 hours prior coz you might get penalties)
      Just to clarify, I am not, in one way or another, affiliated with the embassy so don’t take my “advise” as gospel truth. (in short, walang sisihan hehe)
      Hi Ynel, I cannot confirm for sure but as far as I know they just require proof that you have the means to travel and that you are going to come back to something in Dubai (establish ties with the country like a stable job, assets, etc).
      They might ask you about your “budget” though. You can say that you have saved for this trip and will use credit cards (this is just in case they ask … don’t offer information 😉 )
    HI,
    Just wanna check, cos I traveled to Turkey two years back and did exactly the same and was granted a tourist visa.
    Now I wanna apply for another visa to travel in April, but I read online (wikipedia) that we are now eligible to apply for e-visa too.. I gave it a shot, in just 2 minutes of filling out the online forms I was granted the e-visa, multiple entry for 6 months. But as per Wikipedia, if I am a Philippine passport I am only allowed for a Single Entry, 3 months valid visa, with the condition that I only book a return ticket with Turkish airlines. And I already booked with Emirates.
    Would you know if I’m gonna get in trouble? :p
    Thanks,
      Hi Kate,
      tickets are not usually required prior to obtaining visas because there is still a big chance that you might not get granted entry and you would have to cancel/refund your ticket 😉
      NOC’s are required most of the time and it would not hurt if you bring one even if it is not in the list of requirements.
    And can you suggest if it’s better to pay/join a group tour or just travel with ourselves.
    And if we travel by ourselves what are the must see attractions in Istanbul. We will be there for 4 days in March.
      Hi Luis, NOC should come from your employer (its a document stating that your sponsor has no objection for you to travel). As for your second question, that would depend on how adventurous you are. Group tours have strict schedules which means you just follow their itenirary. The plus side of that is you wont have to think about anything. There are tons of places to go in Istanbul. You must visit the grand bazaar and hagia sofia to name a few.
      Hi Kathy, the amount of money in your account is not that important. You need to establish that you will be able to travel (and handle all the expenses that goes along with it … hotel accommodations, air fare, etc) and that you will come back to Dubai. This, of course, is just based on my experience.
If I remember correctly, I was given 1 month single entry. (I would have to check my passport and get back to you).
