Zip Line Experience – Tuburan Mountain View Resort

May 2, 2014 by Sheila | A B & Me 6 Comments

This is part of my trip to the Philippines. I’m back in Dubai, though. You can read more here, here and here.

—

I did it!! I finally did it!

The whole family had the grandest time in Tuburan Mountain View resort. We had time for relaxation, bonding with the family, and binging on delicious food. We also had the best kind of adventure!

The whole family did the zip line. Yes, including my grandfather’s brother (who I think is the oldest in the group who’s still safe to go). His nephews — my uncles, were like :

“OK. We go if YOU go.”

Challenge Accepted!

Cool Huh? He even had his sunglasses on!

And here’s everyone else.

And then this happened:

I could hear my heart pounding in my chest while I was being harnessed. They all assured me that it’s safe and the whole thing can carry XX tonnes. Of course I did not understand whatever assurance they were saying because I was busy telling my sister that she has to take care of my baby if something happens to me.

Yeah, I’m a drama queen!!

I reached the other end of the zip line. By this time I was convinced that nothing is going happen, that its totally safe. I looked forward to the trip back. Until I realized I had to trek uphill to get to the other zip line point. Ugh!!

But anyway, I made it. In one piece. With a happy heart.

I believe in doing things at least once in your life, no matter how scary or how ridiculous. Never mind the thunder thighs and the teasing … I lived to tell this story and this will be one of my favorites!

Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!

I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.

Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.

Hello!

Hey there!
We’re a Filipino family of four figuring things out in California after living in Dubai for years. This space is part blog, part memory box—where we share life lately, parenting wins and fails, travels, and everything in between.

Sometimes it’s deep, sometimes it’s funny, but it’s always honest. Thanks for hanging out with us!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole “YOLO I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole “YOLO” mindset. It sounds fun — and sometimes it IS harmless. But when we let it guide our decisions without pause… it can turn into a habit of acting first, thinking later.

This post is just something I made to process that idea. What if we shifted from the YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE to YOU ONLY DIE ONCE?

It’s not being a buzzkill. It’s about modeling self-control, delayed gratification, and faith in action—even when it’s not popular.

What do you think: YOLO or YODO?

Ps. I shared more of the story behind this thought over on @threads if you’re curious (same handle!)
