My sister took us to The Farmer’s Market at The Grove for the first time, and honestly—it’s totally my vibe. The mix of old-school charm, local eats, and city energy is so L.A. We arrived early (which I highly recommend if you don’t want to deal with the weekend rush) and found parking easily at The Grove parking structure. Parking is paid, but the first hour is usually free with validation from certain shops or restaurants—after that, it’s a few dollars per hour. Still, worth it for the convenience.
A Little History
The Original Farmer’s Market has been around since 1934, making it one of Los Angeles’ most iconic food destinations. It started as a place where local farmers sold produce out of the back of their trucks. Now, it has grown into a lively mix of more than 100 stalls, bakeries, and international eateries. It sits right next to The Grove. The Grove is the open-air shopping destination that gives you those movie-scene vibes. It’s been featured in plenty of TV shows and films over the years.

What We Ate
We sampled a bit of everything. We tried fresh croissants from Farmers Market Bakery. We also had a slice from Patsy D’Amore’s Pizzeria, and empanadas from Pamela’s. Honestly, everything smelled so good it was hard to choose! If you’re planning your first visit, check out Bob’s Coffee & Doughnuts for a quick breakfast treat. You can also try Loteria Grill for some seriously good tacos.
The best thing about this place is that you can take your time and just graze through different stalls. My tip? Don’t eat before you go. You’ll want to save all your calories for this one.

Exploring The Grove
After eating, we walked around The Grove, which is connected directly to the market. The fountain shows, live music, and palm-lined walkways make it such a relaxing stroll. We popped into a few shops. We people-watched for a while. We ended our visit with coffee while listening to street performers.
If you’re visiting from out of town, this area makes for a great half-day itinerary. You can grab lunch at the market and shop at The Grove. Then, maybe catch a movie or visit nearby attractions like LACMA or The Petersen Automotive Museum.
Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
