Sally Hansen: Gel Cuticle Remover

April 13, 2010 by Sheila | A B & Me 4 Comments

I accidentally dropped my cuticle nipper

I have very thick cuticles. Probably because I started trimming it when I was 12 or 13. I should have listened to my mom. She always said never to cut your cuticles because when they grow back, they would be thicker and worst!

I also have a terrible problem with hang nails. So not having nippers is like a nightmare for me. I envy girls who don’t cut their cuticles. Those who can get away with just pushing it back and still look neat.

I started looking for products that do not require cuticle cutting.

I decided to try Sally Hansen’s Gel Cuticle Remover. It has Jojoba and Kiwi Extracts. Good Right?

To Use: Apply a thin strip around the cuticle and wait for 1 – 2 minutes. Do not leave for longer than 8 – 10 minutes. With the Flat end of the pusher tip, gently loosen and push back the cuticle. Wash away with warm soapy water.

I followed the instructions carefully. I waited for 2 minutes and used the built-in pusher tip which was a total mess because more gel came out! Anyway, I ended up using a regular pusher.

Sadly my cuticles won’t budge. I even waited a few more minutes before pushing back again but nothing happened. I washed my hands with warm soapy water, but still, nothing happened. I’m totally not satisfied.

Would I recommend this? No. I think it’s a waste of time and money.

Sometimes the best memories aren’t from big adventures but from the simple moments—like game night in a cozy cabin, laughing until our stomachs hurt. We booked our Big Bear stay through @airbnb and @avantstay gave us the perfect backdrop for a weekend full of fun, comfort, and family time. Definitely one for the books.
