A B & Me Blogger in Focus : My Yellow Bells

Oh hi… hello there! I’m still alive and stressed out (but that’s for another blog post!). You might be wondering, what’s with the title, huh? Well, since I’ve followed other bloggers, I figured why not feature them on this blog so you can also check them out and get to know them better, right?

How did you start blogging?

I started blogging via Friendster, I also had a piczo account where I posted lots of photos but both became casualties of Facebook I guess. The good thing is I was able to export my posts (very few) from Friendster to Blogger as I already started My Yellow Bells back then, the bad news is I lost Piczo. I launched MYB in 2009 and never look back.

What do you write about?

I write about random topics (niche-less) that’s why I now call the blog a lifestyle blog. I write mostly about my life and my family’s life here in the sandpit. I have recipes, tutorials, restaurant and hotel experiences, fashion, events and everything else about Dubai and the UAE.

Tips for new Bloggers?

Keep on writing and sharing experiences, try to make every post a quality content for your blog. Content, content, content. Never get tired of your blog and writing.

 What are the challenges you face with blogging?

One of the challenges I face with blogging is finding time to do it. Sometimes I need to stay up late just to finish an article, which means robbing myself the time to spend with my husband and the kids. Another challenge I have with blogging is my limited knowledge about web design. I am self-taught, I used tutorials to arrange and design my blog. It wasn’t easy to ready HTMLS in the beginning but yeah I get the hang of it later on.

What do you do outside of blogging?

I work full-time as an EA in a Real Estate company in Dubai and I have mommying duties after that.
