Hi, I’m Zeyna! 12th May 2014 was the day I became a Mummy, and since then there has only been Mummy on my Mind! I am a British expat, Wife and Mother to my 2-year-old son (Baby Z), living in Dubai. Mummy On My Mind is a collection of musings on all things Parenting & Family related, along with a little bit of Fashion, Cooking, Beauty, Reviews, Travel and Expat Lifestyle too!

How did you start blogging?

I began blogging to keep an online diary of motherhood a few months after Baby Z was born. I wanted to share my experiences of parenthood with others as well as keep those memories fresh. Being a stay at home Mum, I also wanted a creative outlet, where I could develop my passion for writing.

What do you write about?

Mummy On My Mind is a family and lifestyle blog, where I cover Baby Z’s milestones, my thoughts on different aspects and experiences of parenting, as well as my life as an expat in Dubai. I share with my readers the hot spots of Dubai, whether it be food, beauty and wellness or must visit places. I also champion artistic businesses in the “Local Flair” features on my blog, giving them a platform to share their work.

Tips for new Bloggers?

Spread the word about your blog posts through social media. Writing great posts is good, but you must also focus on getting it out there so that people read them.

What are the challenges you face with blogging?

Having spoken about the importance of social media, I find it difficult to switch off sometimes. Blogging takes up a lot of time, and getting the right balance is something I am always working on.

What do you do outside of blogging?

I enjoy spending quality time with my family, whether it is impromptu walks to the park or snuggling down to read a bedtime story with Baby Z. I also love discovering Dubai, as there is always something new to witness in this city of wonders.

3 Random Facts about you

1. I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter series! I read the last book (The Deathly Hallows, with over 600 pages) in 2 days.
2. I was born in Saudi Arabia, and hope to master speaking Arabic one day, though I can barely speak ten words of it now.
3. I love Sushi, and managed to bring Baby Z to love it too!
