I woke up to sad sad news this morning about the bombings in Boston. I spent an hour looking at the photos and videos on twitter and facebook. I feel so bad for the people who lost loved ones and friends on such a cruel act. I can not even put my feelings into words …
What’s more infuriating is that some people would post stuff on the internet without checking their facts! For example, a photo of a little girl who’s supposedly running for Sandy Hook.
She is not dead. She’s not even in Boston marathon. The bib says Joe Casella 5K. This event was in May 2012. Check it on this site. Joe Casella Foundation even posted on their FB to clarify things. The casualty was an 8 year old BOY.
I know this would seem like I’m capitalizing on this to have hits on this blog but I’m not. I am writing this because it’s disgusting! We should be mindful of what we put out there. Be careful of what you tweet or post. If you’re not sure, don’t do anything because one (re)tweet won’t move mountains.
This also goes for those who post things like:
– like = $1 / share = $5 — no it’s not! if you want to help, go look for the contact person and ask for the bank account so you can actually transfer money. Liking or sharing will NOT raise funds.
– Pass to 10 friends or your mom will die … I have not passed on letters like this since high school and my mom is still well, thank you very much!
Please be careful of what you post. Please!
I’m hoping that my baby would know what peace is like. My heart goes out to everyone who’s grieving right now.
On other news, we experienced another earthquake in UAE today. No one was hurt. (Except for those who had to evacuate and use the stairs from the 800th floor)
