The Waiting Game

Had my check up last Wednesday and all is well.

I was able to talk to my OB regarding my birth plan and she’s very supportive. I told her that I want to experience the “Unang Yakap” procedure and that I want to exclusively breastfeed my baby.  I can see that she’s happy with my decision. She did warn me though.

Apparently, this procedure means I will not be given any anesthetics, no IV’s, no whatever. It will be painful but worth it. I did not blink when I told her that I’ll do it and as long as its possible and as far as I can tolerate the pain, I don’t want any pain killers.

She checked my .. uhm… lady parts and told me that I’m already 1 cm dilated. It could be any moment now. Or it could still last for a couple days, probably a week. I got really excited and all smiley. Dr. Mariano gave me the admission slip and some instructions. I’m almost there!!

When I got home, panic struck! I was not prepared. My bag is not yet ready!!! I tried to relax and waited for signs that I’m going to deliver (that’s how excited I was). Then I tried to sleep it off. But by 2 am, I stood up and packed my bag. I couldn’t sleep unless I know I’m really really ready.

So there. It’s been almost a week and still no baby. I’ll be having my regular check up on Wednesday and we’ll see what happens. In the meantime, I need to get out of the house. LOL!!
