School is out!

Heeeeyooo!

First of all, did you notice our new header?

Picking a name for this blog wasn’t easy. And I am not the most creative person in the world so … I figured I’d do a play on words. Blake was still a toddler and we were listening to a lot of Wheels on the bus and ABC’s back then.

So it was decided, A B and Me.

Get it? A B and C — A B and Me? Now, what does it stand for??? That was another hard question. Initially, it was Alvin, Blake and Me (Sheila) because I was the only one handling the blog. Also, there was just the three of us back then. Alvin started blogging as well so that was perfect!

But now Adam is here. What happens to our blog name? Well, we’re keeping it. The initials still work and the “me” part would be shared by me and Alvin depending on who’s writing the article. Let’s not complicate things. Hah!

School is Out!

So, school is out in our part of the world. Blake was so happy now that she doesn’t have to wake up early. She doesn’t like school very much. (But she did cry on her last day saying she’ll miss her teacher. What do I do with this girl?)

The scariest drive I did – Manila North to South

I recently experienced the scariest drive of my life when we went to the Philippines to celebrate my Mother’s 60th birthday.

From North to South

My family is from Las Piñas which is in Southern Manila, “S” family is from Meycauayan which is outside of Manila but on the Northern side. We arrived NAIA terminal 3 on 9th of September and headed straight to Meycauayan to spend a day relaxing before the festivities. Our plan was to spend 2 nights in Club Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas which is again in the South. Read more

Things To Do in UAE: Preparing for the Long Weekend

It’s another long weekend guys!

I’m going to make this quick. I’m listing down some of the things you can do during the weekend without putting a hole in your pocket! Here goes:

Al Ain Oasis

Jebel Hafeet

SAM_2215 edited

Al Aryam Panorama

Bastakiya Corridor

These are just some of the things we were able to do. I’m sure there are a lot more hidden gems in the UAE, and just like Pokemon Go, we gotta catch them all!

OR …

Stay at home! It’s really not a big deal. Catch up on some sleep. Clean your closet. Read a book. Chill!

As for me, I’m hoping to catch up on my blogging backlog. We promised B that we will be staying in a hotel (don’t worry, we used our Entertainer app so the budget is intact!). Have a guess at which hotel. It’s the oldest hotel building in the UAE!!

Happy long weekend guys!

Eid Break – What did we do?

Ohaiii guys!

Has it really been almost 3 weeks since my last post? Time really flies fast, huh? This month has really kept us on our toes.

First week was the start of the new school year. That means I’m back to making some bento boxes for B! So glad that our schedules are working well, otherwise I’d be one cranky mama! (I can’t cope with very little sleep, don’t test me. ;P )

Second week was the Eid break. Long holiday + a couple of days off meant we got to go home! Yep, we went to the Philippines for a short (tiring!) break.

STAY: Rèsidence Les Grandes Alpes

September last year, we spent 2 nights at La Clusaz, France. We stayed in a charming chalet-style apartment which is just a 3-minute walk from the ski slopes…
