I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about this restaurant. It’s one of the oldest authentic Chinese restos in Dubai. We decided to go check it last night. Imagine, I’ve been living in Dubai for eleven years and I have not been to this place? I also used to live in the same area, why have I not tried this restaurant before!?
The exterior is adorned with chinese lanterns. Red and gold is primarily the theme (very chinese, right?) Once inside, we were greeted by … well, Chinese staff. We got to our table, and started checking out the menu. I was surprised when the lady took our order. She did not have any pen and paper on her. She looked very bored and disconnected. Then she repeated our order without batting an eyelash. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a robot. (LOL!)We ordered:
Broccolli with Crushed Garlic, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Sizzling Beef with Caramelized Garlic, Seafood Fried Rice. The food is good. Definitely different from other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. I loved the sizzling beef … Although, I find it a bit expensive. (Just a bit. Hey, what’s expensive for me might be cheap for you … right?)I will have to try other things when I visit next. Something outside my comfort zone. Sea urchins not included. China Sea Al Maktoum St. Deira, Dubai
